About Doctor V.
Hi, there! Welcome to The Animal Doc Blog. I'm Natasha Vilchez-Herrador, a veterinarian and animal lover. I was born and raised in Citrus County, Florida. My love for animals began as a little girl having been raised on a 100+ acre farm around cows, pigs, chickens, horses, dogs, and cats. As I grew up, I decided to transfer my love and passion for animals into a career which led me on an incredible journey.
I performed my undergraduate studies at The University of Florida. After completely my Bachelors of Science degree I moved to the Caribbean to attend veterinary school at St. Matthew's University.
Three years of books, long hours, and tests was followed with a clinical year at Purdue University in Indiana. After 3 years of sunshine and warmth, nothing can prepare you for the cold of an Indiana winter!
Once completing my veterinary studies I returned home to the sunshine and sand of Florida. After several years of working as an associate veterinarian, I decided to open my own small animal practice in Citrus Hill's, Florida.

As a way to communicate current events, issues, ideas, and more to pet owners, I decided to create a blog. Many pet owners go to the internet to seek advice on a pets behavioral, medical, or wellness issue. However, not all information on the internet is reliable or placed there with good intentions. This blog was created to discuss common issues, answer questions, and hopefully serve as a good source of information for pet owners.
